Architecture in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka boasts an architectural legacy dating back to the 3rd century B.C., reflecting a sophisticated civilization with advanced knowledge of science, technology, and town planning. The engineering marvel of Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the spectacular paintings and statues at Dambulla Cave Temple, and the towering dagobas at Anuradhapura showcase this heritage. Colonial influences from the Portuguese, Dutch, and British are evident in the architecture of coastal areas like Galle Fort, and the hill country’s tea planter bungalows and railway lines. From Sri Lanka tourist places to beautiful places in Sri Lanka, the island’s architecture is a testament to its rich cultural history and diverse tourist destinations.
Whether exploring ancient ruins or colonial-era structures, visitors are offered a unique journey through time, making Sri Lanka a top choice for those seeking an immersive travel experience. At Ceylon Roots, we enhance these explorations with bespoke Sri Lanka tours that immerse you in the elegance and ingenuity of Sri Lanka’s many architectural marvels, providing an unparalleled journey through beauty and nature.

We loved absolutely everything about the trip. First of all, I would like to point out that tourism requires a certain amount of physical activity and the hotel ends up being solely for sleeping. A large number of tourist attractions are visited and it ends up being a very full day. The eating places were suitable for the group and the trip is very structured.
There is usually a bit of a mess on the last day because each couple leaves for the airport at a different point and time, but they resolved it well.
I wanted to highlight Jayampathi, a great person. My partner had a problem climbing Lion Rock and I did not hesitate to help him at all times. He explained all the temples to us brilliantly, made the journeys enjoyable with his talks on the history of Sri Lanka and was constantly looking out for us. A ten for a person and a professional.
We recommend this tour if you want to be carefree about everything and feel safe in a country unknown to us, which has surprised us for the better in every way.
Likewise, the tour includes a visit to craft, fabric, and souvenir factories, among other activities, in addition to cultural and monumental visits.
In conclusion, it has been a wonderful experience in a fantastic country. We would repeat it again. Many special thanks to Jani and Sandro who have made it possible.
A hug,
Eduardo and Martha.
Everything was perfectly organized, the hotels were incredible, the people were charming, the food was delicious, and the activities all fascinated me. Special thanks to Jayampathi, an incredible person who has made us see Sri Lanka in a unique way. The passion and care he puts into everything and how he cares that you don't miss a single detail and enjoy this country to the fullest are impressive. Thanks also to our driver and his assistant, they are wonderful people. Without a doubt I recommend it 100%!!!! Thank you!!!!!!
Jani is a kind, close and inspiring person who has taught us his culture, his people, his art and has transmitted to us his passion for the history of his country through its temples, frescoes and monuments.
Our driver and guide was most competent,
kind and knowledgeable. He always made sure that our needs were met, he knew the best places and, best of all, took the nicest photos and videos of us, which he then sent to us so that we had a truly unforgettable experience.

We had a great driver / guide that was informative, polite and eager to please.
We saw all parts of the country from: beautiful beaches, picturesque mountains, history and culture.
They organised the perfect balance between an experience and relaxation. Our family of five will leave this place with fond memories, great stories to tell and amazing photos to share.
